Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

In February 2000, my family took a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for a wedding. I took that opportunity to take some pictures. These are the ones that I took in large size, for use as backdrops.

This first picture turned out to be a lucky shot. This flower was in a flower-box on the back walkway of our floor of the resort. We had been commenting on it for a couple of days, and so when I took my camera out for some pictures, this shot was one of the first. Its a good thing we took the picture then, since the flower was gone the next day - someone had clipped it off!

This shot is of a part of the center of the resort area, between the two main suite buildings. This shows one of the decorative ponds, some palm trees, some creepers, some flowers, etc. Just a general tropical mixture!

The resort we stayed at (La Jolla de Mismaloya) is on its own little bay within the larger Banderas Bay. There is a steep hillside behind it. On the hillside are some private houses/villas, and there is a rather steep cobbled road leading up to them. Some of us went for a walk up there one day, and I took some pictures from up there. The islands visible in the bay views are "Los Arcos", which means "The Arches". The trio of rocky islands are full of birds, and the sea has created arching caves and passages in their far sides. The center island has a fairly large tunnel going all the way through it, at right angles to this view.
