Wai'anapanapa State Park
Wai'anapanapa State Park on the way to Hana is an official stop that is worth visiting. There is an old lava tube that you can walk a few feet through to its mouth on the ocean. It is down by a "black sand" (crushed lava) beach. There are also some blowholes and caves resulting from similar lava features. The park has picnic sites, washrooms, historical sites, etc. The official web page is here.
