Out for a Walk, August 16, 2012

There is an archaelogical dig straight down the hill from my place. On the day I was there, they were just digging up a bison bone from a firepit. Fascinating to see that sort of thing so close.

I think I startled this hawk from a small tree, and it flew by about 10 feet away, but of course I didn't have my phone ready for pictures.

The Edmonton Queen Riverboat didn't run much this year, presumeably because of all the high water caused by all the rain. I got these pictures on today's walk.
