For the last several years, we've had the "Ice off Whyte" festival in the winter. That has been popular, both with folks looking at it, and with the various carvers doing the work. So, this year, the organizers wanted to do something in the summer. Some of the carvers do both kinds of art, and were interested. Unfortunately, this year Edmonton has been hit by several sessions of quite heavy rain and the first set of carvings didn't survive the opening weekend. The pictures here are of the second set - some of the carvers will still in town and were able to redo their work.
