GETS 2001 - A Few Small Buildings

For my second contribution to a GETS show, I did a few small buildings. My mother was visiting during the summer, and she had recently worked in a flower shop, so we decided to build a flower shop. It has interior detail on the main floor, but you can't see it, not even with the help of a LEGO light.

I also did two small houses.

I did a small log cabin as well. I wanted the logs to go horizontal, but LEGO only makes vertical logs, so it was a bit of a challenge, and pretty flimsy.

I did make a 4-story office or apartment building, but the space for that at the show was filled with a better one, so mine didn't make an appearance.

You can't see it very well here, but I used my grey Megabloks to build a base for John's large Technic crane. The idea was to raise the crane base (a 48x48 baseplate) to the level of the tables. I made sure it was strong enough by standing on it! It was designed as the base of a skyscraper under construction.
