One branch of my family has a beautiful house up in the trees in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, and I spent a few days around Christmas there. The house has lots of big windows, so I took some shots looking out them, at some fresh snow:

Coming back from Christmas supper, we spotted some tracks in the driveway. Around back of the house were these tracks. He (she?) came down from the road, sniffed at the barbeque, went past the end of the house and down some paths. Bears are supposed to be hibernating in the winter, but apparantly the very hot and dry summer left little in the way of berries and other food around, so they are wandering around because they are hungry. |
